Seniors Wearing Odd Headgear Made From Flora
Looks like these grandpas and grandmas still have some humour left inside them and prove that one can never get too old for a ridiculous hairdo. Wearing headgear constructed from rhubarbs, seaweed, moss and other flora they pose for a photography project by Riitta Ikonen and Karoline Hjorth, called “Eyes as Big as Plates”.
The project itself, actually, is further from humour than it looks like. It features characters from Norwegian and Swedish folk tales and depicts the romantic belief that folklore is the clearest reflection of people’s souls. Even more interesting are the chosen models - local senior heroes, sailors, retired agronomists and 90-year old parachuters. Check out pictures from the first two parts of this project.
