Novartis ‘Reflections’ Campaign by Tom Hussey
“Sometimes we need photography to create a complex interplay between reality and illusion,” says Texas-based commercial advertising photographer Tom Hussey. This concept is clearly depicted in the series of photographs taken for the campaign of prescription medicine used for the treatment of Alzheimer.
The pictures create a story where elderly people look at the mirror and face reflections of their younger selves. The concept of young people looking at their future selves in a mirror is a quite frequent motive of various stories. Thus a vice versa concept approached by Tom Hussey is a novelty and creates a strong and inspirational statement. The photographer uses soft lightning, dim tones and eloquent surroundings in the pictures to create emotionally moving stories of people.
